Year 1

S-Troupe Year One - 2005/2006

Catherine Rose Ames – Ms. Ames (AKA Thorn) has been in love with C-8 and everything that goes along with it ever since Jackie Stanford’s laughter began being measured by tally marks. To help found S-Troupe was an honor for her, and being an S-Troupian was one of her most treasured memories in high school, in which she was exposed to Shopaholics, Shims, and Syphilis. She is using her experiences from S-Troupe as she matriculates at the University of Southern California, where she hopes to make the right connections in order to make the S-Troupe Movie. Keep your agenda for 2012 open.

Noel Blair – It took Ms. Blair three years to put together her bio. She was in both S-Troupe Year One and  S-Troupe Year Three. She couldn’t be in S-Troupe Year Two due to the fact that she was an exchange student in the Netherlands for her Junior year. Ms. Blair enjoys drama as well as creative writing, so S-Troupe pretty much fits her needs.

Sage Butts – Sage (AKA Rain Drop) loves S-Troupe; she has loved it since that very first Wednesday meeting where five or so people attended. She really misses Mr. Lytle and his lovely family. Sage hopes to make some time for all of her fellow S-Troupers because they are the only things that make her smile. She thought she had forgotten how to laugh and thanks you all very much!

Steven Carey – No bio available.

Adam Clark – Also known as Adam the Great, Adam Magnus and King Caustic, Mr. Clark’s trademark is his fiery temper on and off stage. This normally leads to a plethora of insults by him; this is again regardless of a stage. Mr. Clark enjoys philosophy and discussions of an intelligent nature, and hopes to convey these things through film, which he is most passionate about. Adam plans on remaining active in S-Troupe, of which he is an original member and Founder, any way possible as he feels that he is always right and thus must find a way to tell people what to do.

Alan Dahl – Mr. Dahl is a sophomore in college, an S-Troupe Founder, and current Mormon Missionary. Since he was a little tyke, Alan has had a love for history and is looking forward to pursuing his passion in the coming years. Although Alan likes to seem cool and aloof, he is, in truth, a huge fan of The Lord of the Rings, and has a place in his heart for (nearly) all things geeky. Alan wishes all the future generations of S-Troupe good luck and gives a special ‘good luck’ to Mr. Lytle with his latest role as Dad.

Diana Delgado – Ms. Delgado is an original member of S-Troupe. She was a Thespian at Cibola, and was also involved in various other activities, such as orchestra, but still thinks S-Troupe is the best.

Michelle Dyer - Ms. Dyer is an original member of S-Troupe and, unlike the bulk of the group, she was one of the six that remained for its second year. Her assiduous efforts in the troupe have paid off: not only has she written, produced, directed and performed in many a sketch, but she is noted as a show producer, an aggressive promoter, and a hanger-of-flyers. Michelle enjoys writing, reading, laughing, performing, watching movies and learning about people. Her main goal in life: to marry Conan O’Brien. No one has the courage to tell her he’s already married.

Amanda Gozur – Ms. Gozur (aka Gouda Girl), an original and founding member of S-Troupe, fell in love with theatre when her older brother, Michael, began in Cibola High School’s drama department. Unlike him, Ms . Gozur continued through her high school career and ended her senior year as president of Thespian Troupe 688. Thanks to the wonderful support and knowledge gained from such great and creative teachers as Mr. Lytle, Ms. Gozur has gone on to work backstage at Popejoy Hall at the University of New Mexico, putting herself to work on such shows as Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory  and The Phantom of the Opera.  “All I can say is S-Troupe can sure do a body gouda!”

Louis Gurule – No bio available.

Sam Hobbs – Mr. Hobbs, known for his powerful presence and udeniable quirkiness, has been involved in theatre since 2000. He has been in numerous productions at Cibola High School - including South Pacific and Expo ‘06 - but S-Troupe was the most memorable of all. He remains a dedicated alumnus and looks forward to S-Troupe’s eventual debut on NBC primetime. Mr. Hobbs would like to express gratitiude to his sister, Patty, who first inspired him to be on stage, Mr. Lytle, Apple Computers, and Pepperidge Farms for their fine, high-quality products.

Amanda Huffman – No bio available.

Steven Kean – Mr. Kean, a founding member of S-Troupe, is known for his acute ability to construct extremely long and complex sentences in a bold attempt to appear above the comprehensive intellect of the would-be comprehender as clearly and so cleverly illustrated by his infamous sketch, The Pitch, in which such logistic forms and syntax were so brilliantly used in order to deliberately confuse the audience, while, at the same time, flowing like classic poetry despite the fumbling of a key line by Steven Carey and Mr. Kean’s clear disrespect of grammar and spelling rules. In real life, Mr. Kean is short, sweet, and to the point. He attends film school in Santa Fe and has shot a number of S-Troupe’s shows. Mr. Kean also directed the documentary, S-Troupe Presents S-Troupe.

Danielle Lewis – Ms.Lewis is currently attending Brigham Young University-Idaho working towards a Bachelors Degree in Creative Writing and a Minor in French. She hopes to get her Masters degree in Education from the University of
New Mexico, and to become a High School teacher. She is looking forward to visiting Europe next summer, and is working towards her goal of completing a novel. A part of S-Troupe’s first two years, Ms. Lewis still writes sketches on her own quite often, and hopes to for a very long time. Sad will be the day when she can’t turn to the blank page, and say to herself, “So, I’ve got this idea, right…”

Matt Livingston – Mr. Livingston is one of the original S-Troupe members. He has had limited theatrical experience, playing the lead in his 6th grade play. With S-Troupe, Mr. Livingston has found his calling and plans on sticking with it.

Travis Lytle (Executive Producer) – Mr. Lytle created S-Troupe in 2005 in an effort to “make his students famous.” Besides serving as its Executive Producer, he writes, directs, and performs with the troupe. Currently a Creative Writing teacher at Albuquerque’s Cibola High School, Mr. Lytle holds an MA from the University of Memphis in film production where he got his first taste of sketch comedy, writing, directing and executive producing Live Wire, a little-seen TV show broadcast from the University. Mr. Lytle has a variety of theatre experience, but his biggest production is his lovely daughter: Claire Noel Lytle, born December 21, 2006.

Nathan Moore – No bio available.

Toby Phillips – No bio available.

Zack Plohr (Technical Director) - No bio available.

Quinn Rol - Mr. Rol began his career as the youngest, original member of S-Troupe, but this did not stop him from lusting after the spotlight. By his third and final year, Mr. Rol and his illustrious mentor, Travis Lytle, had their sights set on putting one hundred sketches under Mr. Rol’s belt before May dawned. Mr. Rol has also participated in many lesser activities at Cibola High School, including fifteen theatrical productions at the Joan Kent theatre.

Julie Shimanek – Ms. Shimanek has a heart of gold and couldn’t be mean if she tried, according to fellow S-Troupers. She is one of the original members of S-Troupe and responsible for the acclaimed, Year One sketch Cake. At Cibola, the current University of New Mexico student was involved in Senate, Cross Country, NHS, and the Literature Magazine. She often finds her writing overtaken by the adventures of a squirrel named Squeakers Bushytail and his attempts to conquer the world “one acorn at a time.” Among other things, Julie is proud of her talent for peeling oranges in the shape of an “S”. It’s all about the “S” for her!

Austin Silva – Mr. Silva (AKA Saint Commodore Reverend Doctor DJ Austin Sterling BraSilva) started acting in the 3rd grade in an Albuquerque Civic Light Opera Association show. He then got his feet wet in the theatrical arts and kept his performing arts passion burning through middle and high school. He served as a Founder of S-Troupe as well as the Artistic Director and Sound Manager in the Cibola Drama Department. Austin is now pursuing his second passion, Science, by attending the New Mexico Institute for Mining and Technology (New Mexico Tech) for a double major in Physics and Electrical Engineering.

Joshua “Clavinova” Spurgeon - Mr. Spurgeon started his career in theatre at age 8 in an independent acting studio called “On Stage” school of acting. Josh starred as the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz and was congratulated for being the only boy in the whole production. Later, Josh, auditioned for Leonardo in Lorca’s Blood Wedding but was cast as a Woodcutter in said play. Josh is one of the Founders of S-Troupe and hopes to keep writing and performing all through his undergraduate work at UNM. Josh’s new dream is to perform an S-Troupe show at the Theatre in the Sandia Casino Resort. It’s huge. Mr. Spurgeon also designed this site, serving as its original webmaster.

Jackie Stanford – No bio available.

Tori Sullivan – Ms. Sullivan (aka Tink) has been involved with the stage since she was a little tike. Ms. Sullivan had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Lytle through her big brother and couldn’t wait to be in his class junior year. With his class developed friendships and this amazing wish come true. Ms. Sullivan loves to write and act, and all the inspiring people of S-Troupe gave her the chance to do both. Sadly, she has moved on in life to UNM to pursue another dream in psychology and sign language, but a big part of her heart will stay with the old and new S-Troupe members. To all the wonderful people she will never ever forget, she loves you and wants you to continue to light up the sky!

Aly Valdez – Ms. Valdez is an original member and Founder of S-Troupe. She is currently a student at UNM who loves reading, writing, singing, dancing, laughing, and anything that has to do with theatre. Ms. Valdez has been an active member in theatre since middle school, where she fell in love with the stage. Through her studies at UNM, she hopes to receive a Bachelor’s in business and then go on to a school with a great fashion design program. Ms. Valdez hopes to then start her own clothing line. Someday, you will her name when S-Troupers and other stars are asked, “Who are you wearing?”
